Brad Pitt gets a bad rap from a lot of people, for what I honestly don’t know. I won’t go as far as saying that he’s underrated, but he’s far from being overrated; I guess the right word would be unappreciated. I like that he doesn’t pigeonhole himself and takes on a variety of roles. He’s been the sex symbol (Legends of the Fall), an action hero (Mr. and Mrs. Smith), taken on dramatic roles (Moneyball and The Tree of Life) and he’s even done comedy (the Ocean trilogy). In Killing Them Softly Pitt is playing a hit-man, a serious and gritty role. Alongside a really well put together cast including James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins and Ray Liotta the heist/crime thriller could be a surprise hit. I know I have my hopes up and look forward to its release in October.

Andrew Dominik (who is worth mentioning in your post) is a phenomenal director. His last film, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is one of my favorite movies of all time and I cannot wait for this movie. Trailer looks solid, teasing the film enough without giving anything away. I am very excited. Thanks for posting it! I didn’t see it anywhere else.
Nick, you are right…I should have included Andrew Dominik. The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is a great and underrated film.
I’m hoping for serious violence in this one.
I like him in more lighter roles, Ocean trilogy is probably my favorite but I do adore his boyish looks in Meet Joe Black.
Overrated? Nah, people are just jealous he so fine (at least was, he is getting scruffier and me no likey).
I’m not going to lie….I’ve liked him in just about everything I’ve seen him in.
I think his marriage to Angelina and what happened with Jennifer Anniston prior to marrying Angelina put him under a dark cloud with a lot of people, but none of that has anything to do with his acting; I think he’s much better than people give him credit for. Hey, there’s nothing wrong with scruffy guys…lol
He’s not married to Angelina yet (still hope for Jen)! Ha. No, I guess the gossip still matters to people but oh he is more fine without the scruff but I guess it is a youth thing.
